The Gospel Is Good News, Not Marketing
Christian witness should be clear, truthful and loving. The message is Jesus Christ — not pressure, exaggeration or a promise of an easy life.
The Gospel has content
Paul summarises the Gospel around the death of Christ for our sins, His burial, His resurrection and the apostolic witness to the risen Lord (1 Corinthians 15:1–8). Christian evangelism therefore begins with what God has done in Jesus Christ, not with techniques designed to win an argument.
No manipulation
The New Testament calls Christians to speak truthfully and to commend the Gospel openly. Faith cannot be manufactured by pressure. People should be free to ask questions, disagree, walk away and return later. Christian witness should respect human dignity because the person in front of us is not a target but a neighbour.
No false promises
Following Jesus is not a guarantee of wealth, perfect health or an easy life. The Gospel offers reconciliation with God, forgiveness, new life in Christ, the gift of the Holy Spirit, belonging to God’s people and a living hope — while Scripture also speaks honestly about suffering, perseverance and costly discipleship.
Public witness with humility
Britain for Christ exists to encourage churches and Christians to proclaim Jesus Christ faithfully. That means courage without aggression, conviction without contempt, and confidence in the Gospel without pretending that every Christian has every answer.
Our task and God’s work
Christians are called to bear witness, pray, serve and explain the hope within them. Conversion is not a human achievement. This keeps evangelism both urgent and humble.
