THE CENTRE

One God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit

We believe in one eternal God, Creator and Lord of all, eternally existing as three distinct Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Father is God, the Son is God and the Holy Spirit is God; not three gods, but one God.

Statement of faith

Convictions that shape the ministry

These statements summarise the theological foundation Britain for Christ seeks to uphold.

01

Holy Scripture

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and are the supreme written authority for Christian faith, doctrine and life.

02

God the Father

We believe in God the Father, holy, loving, sovereign Creator and Sustainer, from whom all things come and to whom all things ultimately belong.

03

God the Son

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, truly God and truly human. He lived without sin, died for our sins, rose bodily, ascended, reigns and will return in glory.

04

God the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully divine. He glorifies Christ, convicts of sin, gives new life, indwells believers, forms holiness and equips the Church with gifts for service and witness.

05

Humanity & Sin

We believe every person is made in the image of God and therefore possesses dignity and value, yet all have sinned and need God's grace, forgiveness and reconciliation.

06

Salvation by Grace

We believe salvation is God's gracious gift, grounded in the saving work of Jesus Christ and received through repentance and faith, not earned by human merit.

07

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ and the community of God's people. Britain for Christ exists to support, not replace, healthy local churches.

08

Christian Life

We believe followers of Christ are called to worship, prayer, Scripture, holiness, love, baptism, fellowship, service, generosity and faithful witness in the power of the Holy Spirit.

09

Mission & Hope

We believe the Church is sent to make disciples and bear witness to Christ among all peoples, and that Jesus Christ will return to bring God's purposes to completion.

Unity with integrity

Historic Christian essentials, not lowest-common-denominator faith

Britain for Christ seeks cooperation across Christian traditions where there is genuine shared confession of the Triune God, the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the authority of Scripture and the historic Gospel.

Unity does not require pretending that every denomination agrees on every doctrine or practice. Responsible partnership should be truthful about both shared convictions and real differences.
